Hide Seasons not working

I just went to see if I could hide the seasons for an individual TV series by looking at the Advanced settings for the series and I found this:

Apparently, I had ALREADY configured this show to hide seasons in the past, but unfortunately, that setting now appears to be ignored.

I’m sure this is my fault (it always is, it seems) and I’m configured something incorrectly somewhere, but I will argue that if that is true, then the settings page should have removed or at least disabled the option to hide seasons for the individual show.

Since the setting is offered, and I can choose any of the three possible values, I think something in Plex is broken. I tried the other settings and got the same result (every individual season listed), but, when I when back to the “Hide” setting, the seasons were once again hidden. So the setting is respected, when it is new, but not when it already existed when something in Plex changed sometime.

I have no idea how many shows are now incorrectly ignoring that setting and the Plex interface does not offer any ways to perform searches for shows or libraries with a particular setting so that (and possibly other) setting may be changed as a group. That would be immensely useful, but it is surely too much work for not enough profit – after all, ease of maintenance is not something Plex seems to have ever really considered.

Before we declare Plex “broken,” can you please share which (exact) client you’re testing this with and its version? And what is your library-level setting configured to for this particular option.

On Plex Desktop for Mac version 1.105.2.269-12a32491 this option works exactly as advertised. So let’s nail down what you’re using and go from there.

(Yes, I see that you have ‘player-windows’ tagged but there are at least 3 different players one could using on Windows and multiple versions of each, so that has no meaning in-and-of itself.)

And, as I said, it seems that turning the setting off and back on caused it to start working again, so it looks like something was not quite correct in the “conversion” (is that right?) to the “new type” of TV library. Anyways, I’ll just need to fix the broken shows as I encounter them. At least I know how, now – but I would not need to if the library upgrade was not “broken”, at least a little bit.
