Hi Everyone,
since some weeks i’m observing a strange behaviour regarding high CPU usage with my PMS.
I have a PMS instance running on a stand alone windows machine acting as my media server. PMS is maxing out 1 random CPU core to 100%, leaving other cores on idle whilst creating video thumbnails. But also on random occasions whilst doing nothing at all, no transcode nor media scan. This state can last about 10-30 minutes in which the system becomes completely unresponsive, almost unusable because of lag and stutter.
I waited for some updates in the hope this problem would be fixed in the future, but with (i think) 3 updates in the meantime, the problem still hasn’t been fixed for me and still exists to this day.
So i would like to ask if this is a known problem with PMS at the moment?
(i couldn’t find anything recent in the forums)
I never had this kind of issue before in my ~ 15 Years using PMS with about 10 Years on this exact System (i7-4790k / 32GB / 2TB NVMe) with no changes to hard or software in the last months (except windows updates).
i should add, that checking task manager doesn’t show this kind of high CPU usage on any PMS thread but there is quite an amount of system interrupts showing while plex is running with this kind of CPU usage occuring.
