About 5 days ago plex was acting up on my Hisense smart tv, it kept buffering every few seconds and I couldn’t watch anything so I restarted my laptop thinking it was an issue there and restarted my tv - something I always do with no issues and usually fixes things up.
When my laptop had restarted and I clicked on the plex app on my tv, to my surprise it was asking me to sign in again via web browser and code… I did that, I opened the browser to plex.tv/link and entered the code, but when I enter the code in the browser, the browser says “account linked” and the tv says “oops that didn’t work. Press “refresh code” to try again” and I’ve been trying and refreshing for days and nothing is happening. I even removed the app from my tv and added it back again and nothing. Same issue.
I know there’s nothing wrong with my account because I also use plex on a 3 year old LG smart tv which is older than my Hisense one (which I bought several months ago) and everything is fine there .
How do I solve this issue and what could be wrong?
UPDATE: in order to help anyone with the same problem I had and Since no one at plex was helpful and there was no response from anyone to my post either i solved the problem my self. I reset the tv back to factory settings and was finally able to sign in to plex again.
