I have tried to sign in 2 times then got this message. what can I do.
What exact platform / version of the Plex app are you running on that Smart TV?
Tv is a Hisense model 6series-58, plex is at 7.36.14.10147-6754caeec-plex. Is this what you are asking for? this tv was once connected i dont know why it lost the connection.
Update: was lasted connected 4 months ago, updated app, deleted app, reinstalled still wont connect! help!
This could be a networking issue, e.g. the DNS configured on your router failing to resolve plex‘s hostname (in which. Add you could try using one of Google‘s DNS 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 or CloudFlare 1.1.1.1), or some security / content blocker in your network, interfering with the communication (e.g. some device like a piHole)
I am not really familiar with what your are mention to use, I am just starting to look it up, you mentioned a content blocker would this “Pop up blocker for Chrome™” interfere with it?
A content in chrome shouldn’t interfere with your smart tv (unless you’re running the Plex app via a browser on that smart tv instead of the native app).
DNS is the server used by your network to translate a host name (e.g. google.com or plex.tv) to their IP address (based on which all traffic routing in the internet is done).
It’s usually configured in your router. Many ISPs pre-populate this with their own system. If that fails to lookup the correct address for Plex‘s authentication, your Smart TV plex app will fail to authenticate.
Ok I am starting to understand what you mean, My thought. It was connect 3-4 months ago but something changed and now it wont . I thought it could of been a setting in plex i did not know about or some how messed up looking for the answer.. I am searching the cloud flare now.
