Holding arrow key to seek, not working

Hi everyone. Like the title says, holding down the arrow key won’t continuously seek anymore. It just jumps forward once and stops. It’s been at least a week since I noticed it.

Can’t use the seek bar in the HTPC app so if I want to get half way into a movie (that doesn’t have chapters), I need to press the arrow key 100+ times.

Using Windows all around. I’ve tried reinstalling the player. Not sure if it’s a bug with the app, or maybe with windows… Anyone else experienced this? and have a solution? Thanks

Did that remote work out of the box for this to begin with or you had to map it?

I’ve been thinking about switching from android tv to HTPC but the remote functions like this had me wondering if I’m in for more problems or less lol

I use the ‘Unified Remote’ app for my phone, remotes are preloaded, so no programming there. I tried a wired keyboard too. Same behavior with both, single skip forward then it stops. Everything was fine until recently.

The latest Plex HTPC version should have fixed this. I remapped my 650 remote using Flirc but should not be necessary. You can change mappings in the mapping file in Plex.

Plex HTPC Input Maps | Plex Support

I downloaded Plex HTPC yesterday to try it

rk_plex_admin was right, even they keyboard won’t let you fast forward or rewind.

Are you aware of this Plex? I’d like to know before I buy another remote that’s going to sit in a box in the garage

I haven’t found a solution either, just a couple posts from people having the same issue, at least I know it’s not just me.

Works perfectly fine with my Logitech K400+

Player Version#: 1.23.2.3194-7787f5be?

Logitech K330
It will rewind 10 seconds < or FF 30 sec. >
Advance 10 minutes using the >|

But if you hold the > key down it skips once and quits

If I hold the REW or FF key down, the video scrolls to the end or beginning until you release the button. Well, on my K400+ and my 650 remote

This was due to adding support for keyboard input to lua scripts swallowing all key repeats. Since it was only enabled during playback, it was not visible anywhere else. This should be fixed in 1.24.0

Thanks for letting us know, I appreciate the update

Perfect, thanks for the update

How is it working for me ?

After you sent through that beta version to me via PM some time ago, it has worked perfectly fine ?

Maybe your version isn’t updating? Check the version. This was broken when we added support for keyboard commands in lua scripts so any version before that would work with key repeats during playback.

I’m on the latest version

Updated to HTPC 1.24.2.3216 and can confirm that seeking works as expected now. Thanks for the fix!

Has now stopped working for me after updating.

Hmmm.

It’s working for me now too so I guess you need to unmap whatever you mapped

Do you by chance have a normal and long press code set to the FF and RW buttons?
If you do, eliminate the long press
