Home hubs not updating - android tv - shield

Player Version#: 7.25.0.13736

I have several home screen hubs, but they do not seem to be updating anymore.

On deck, recently added tv, recently added movies, on right now, top unplayed, recently played movies, rediscover, start watching, top rated tv, recently played episodes

I have restarted shield, cleared Plex app cache, reset home screen.

its not just you its a bug in this release

The latest Shield release or server release?
I’m on 7.25.0.13736 and have no such issues.

I am having same issue on regular Android TV v7.23.0.13123. Been this way for awhile and really didn’t think about it much until I saw this post. One thing that does bug me is when I finish watching a show and it gets marked as played, when I go back to the TV Shows hub it still shows as unplayed. I have to go to a different hub and back to force a refresh.

Yeah sorry was asking @dan-the-man if the bug was Client side or Server side.
But as mentioned if it’s client side it’s certainly not affecting everyone on that release.

It is a bug that both @dan-the-man and I have reported to the devs.

Same bug here. :flushed: Driving me nuts.

Same here, not synching watch status back to other Android clients either like my phone. New things added to the library are also not being shown in recent items. Completely broken.

Is it only Android TV? As I am now seeing the mobile app now not updating either. I watched some family guy and American dad last night via the Kodi client and the server itself is aware of this but the mobile client is ignoring anything I watched last night and isn’t reporting anything new that has been added today.

I’ve only seen it on android tv/shield.

My IOS clients seem to be fine.

I have not checked roku clients.

I meant the Android phone client it was updated the same day and has the same build number.

The Android devs are aware and are working on it.

How does something like this even get by QA? These are some glaring issues. Not just the status either, TV shows > library> sort by last episode date added, all the the dates are messed up.

Its unfortunate but I am actively discussing the issue with devs. It was reported by myself and @dan-the-man. Its been flagged as a high priority regression fix with the Android devs.

One other thing I see that Collections tab is broken in TV and Film it just says there is no data to display but if you search for that collection it is there.

Just to add to the conversation. I’m having the same problem on my shield tv running the Plex beta app. Only seems to have started a few days ago. Only way I was able to get it to refresh was to reboot the shield or by force stopping the app and relaunching it.

Just to chime in (because it doesn’t appear to be affecting all) I also am experiencing no new items being added, play counts not updating and next episodes not updating on deck.

This has all been since 7.25.0.13841-beta a couple of days ago.

I am using a Shield TV and my other non Android TV devices are unaffected.

New items not being added is a fairly major balls up, so hopefully the devs get a fix rolled out asap, but hey! This is beta testing, so we have to roll with the punches if we want to stay on the cutting edge and help keep Plex at the top of it’s game :smiley:

Same issue here on a 2019 shield.
