Home hubs not updating - android tv - shield

This issue is affecting me also but only on deck, new items are showing normally.

Same here!
New Android TV beta release but no word on a fix for this (haven’t tried yet)
Any news for this annoying bug (all home hubs are frozen)
Thanks for good news

I see there was a new update on the play store so installed and now the home screen is totally broken, everything showing as offline, no episodes or movies or anything.

i had what looks like this issue on mobile on the this new beta, resetting HOME back to defaults fixed it, could try if you want

Not fixed with today release. Reseting home hub refresh only one time the home screen, but no updates after that.

+1. Looks I got too excited. If you completely close the app and reopen it, the home screen will update.

I got the same crap as moe. This is pretty ridiculous even if beta. It is essentially non functional.

@TeknoJunky It’s frustrating, but the purpose of beta testing is to discover bugs like these and prevent them ending up in the main release that gets pushed out.

It should also be noted that it’s clearly only affecting some of us, otherwise there would be a lot more people discussing it.

Note that this happens on non-TV builds as well.
My S10+ Home hub won’t update unless I force close the app and relaunch.
Most of the time it won’t update at all.

HI All

This feature is being updated and slowly progressing while in beta so not all functionality has been completed quite yet. We pushed a new release beta yesterday, can you let us know if you’re still seeing these issues?

Thanks for the further reports

Thanks for your work.
For me on Android mobile 7.25.0.14014 the worst is fixed: I still have to manually pull to refresh the screen but at least it updates.

This said I noticed that Mark as played on an episode on a season page does not refresh the said episode. It stays in unplayed state.
Is it related to the same issue or should I create another topic ?

Home hubs are still not updating, and I even reset them again yesterday.

Current version shown is 7.25.0.14014

To be clear I have auto mange hubs OFF.

I confirm there’s still some problems:
On Android TV 7.25.0.14014, when adding Podcast On Deck hub to Home screen you need to first restart the app to see it appear.

the new HOME hubs are still incomplete and the data is not refreshed in various scenarious (compared to the old HOME)

14108 seems to have stabilized the home hubs and crashing on home screen, so far.

Will continue to monitor and follow up with any other issues.

Thank you.

I did somehow lose my continue watching hub at some point, not sure when.

I only noticed now due to stopping a show before finished.

I was able to go back in and re-add it to home and reposition it back at the top.

The continue watching hub seemed only to appear in the 1 library with an active partial viewing.

Thanks everyone

The latest update should have fixed most issues but let us know if you are still seeing any problelms.

@TeknoJunky Are you seeing this happen often or was it just a one off?

Thanks again

The continue watching was just this once as far as I aware. Will follow up with any other issues develop.

Thanks!

With the latest update, after watching something and then going out of plex and back to the android tv home screen, it shows that what I last watched is still playing even though it is not.

ok so, issues are not resolved.

  • videos do not appear to get correctly ‘marked as played’ upon completion
  • I lost half my hubs (they are in the edit list, but the do not display), is there a max limit to the number of hubs?
  • i tried to ‘force quit’ plex to see if it would fix my missing hubs, and now all the local hubs are showing up again as pictured in post # 23 (this only happening on my shield tv)
  • restarting the server does not seem to fix any hub issues (not that I expected it to)
  • continue watching no longer hides itself when empty (see shot below)

(all of this only happening on my shield tv)

list of my (previously working) hubs

  • continue watching (auto hides when empty)
  • recently added movies
  • recently added shows
  • now playing live tv
  • recently used playlists
  • top unwatched movies (hub worked initially then disappeared)
  • recently watched movies (hub worked initially then disappeared)
  • rediscover shows (hub worked initially then disappeared)
  • top rated shows (hub worked initially then disappeared)
  • start watching shows (hub worked initially then disappeared)
  • recently watched shows (hub worked initially then disappeared)

these are hubs from external servers (not mine), that continued to be displayed even after I forced stopped plex and all the other hubs went to unavailable

  • recently added movies (shared server 1)
  • recently added shows (shared server 1)
  • recently added movies (shared server 2)
  • recently added shows (shared server 2)
