Home page 'loading' spinner spins forever

Plex/AndroidTV version: 7.8.0.11051
Platform: NVidia Shield

Steps:

  1. Remove all hubs from Home screen.
  2. Navigate away from Home screen, then back to Home screen.

When I navigate to the Home page, the ‘loading’ spinner just spins forever, and never shows anything.

Will the Server logs be of any use for this?

Sounds like an old bug the Android app had

Thanks for the report. We can reproduce it so we don’t need logs, will get it fixed!

I have the same problem, straight after upgrading to the latest Android TV version with UNO as default.

Plex for Android 7.19.0.11437-beta
Nvidia Shield TV.

Hi @DavidAndAndrea, we just had a new version go out to our beta - 7.19.0.11473-beta. Can you let us know if you are still seeing the issue after upgrading? Thanks for reporting.

With the 7.19.0.11473 (c42565ab) build, the problem seems to be resolved. On my first try, the problem was still there, but I restarted the Shield and the problem no longer occurs.

I still have the same problem with this version. Sometimes when I go in it’s spinning forever. Sometimes it shows the “Reset to defaults” button - when I follow that route and complete it it just goes back to the “Reset to defaults” button.

I’m not stating that the following was/is the case/bug/issue…

I’ve seen this happen to a friend of mine on 2 separate occasions, a month or so ago, and found out that the first time was tied to his VPN and the second time was tied to his ad-blocker.

I just wanted to point this out in hopes that it helps someone…

Could you please provide logs (here or in a private DM) after you’ve reset to defaults and reached the empty home screen again? It seems to me that it might be a different problem.
Here’s how to get logs: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/
Thanks and sorry you’re experiencing this issue!

I stopped the Plex app, cleared cache and data and restarted it and relinked my account.

This fixed the problem.
