My PMS is on a QNAP TVS-682. Beta update 1.20.2.3343 bugged my home screen. Home screen completely empties and only gives me the option to reset customization. The only way to keep the home screen from emptying again is to set it to automatic management. If I switch to manual management, when I attempt to reorder, it empties again and the process has to be repeated. When home screen empties, I can still access my content by going into the libraries. No titles seem to be missing as others reported. This is happening on my Android TV app version 8.6.0.20351 (e97d660a).
Server Version#: 1.20.2.3343
Player Version#: 8.6.0.20351 (e97d660a)
This has happened on all my Android clients since the update. Shield, Bravia, Tivo4K stream. I don’t think it was the PMS update, I think it was the AndroidTV client update. My other non-AndroidTV clients homescreens work fine. That’s about on par to what happens when Plex messes with the Android client which has been working fine. I really dislike the new pre-play screen as well.

Same for me, but it never sticks. I gave up trying. I’ve always disliked the auto manageement. Hopefully its fixed soon.
This was not the case for me. In fact, I know for a fact because when I updated PMS and experienced the problem, the first thing I did was check if there was an update available for the Android app. There was so I updated the Android app, thinking that would fix it. I assumed whatever was in the update was coinciding with the PMS update. Unfortunately, the problem remains. It definitely started for me immediately after the PMS update and before the Android update. While you may be right about this only affecting Android, the root of the problem is in that PMS update.
I can confirm this is not isolated to Android. Immediately after the update my home screen was broken in Chrome. The only options I had were Live TV (which didn’t work at all, kept saying retry) and podcasts. None of my libraries, on deck, or continue watching were available on the home screen.
Hello all,
I have exactly the same problem on all my devices, Shield, iOS devices (iPhone and iPad), Web.
All Plex apps are up to date and server on the Shield also.
When you say you rolled back are you talking about the server or your player apps? On which OS? Thanks.
I have also a trouble with read episodes, Plex ignores the episodes I have already read and I can’t set an episode to already read manually. I don’t know if it’s linked…
I rolled back the server to previous. However, since I posted that, I have updated to the latest update. There were some fixes in there to resolve the Home issues, but I did have to set mine back to Automatically manage and then customize it again.
All right thanks for the answer.
I eventually re-install completely the server on my Shield, because my database was corrupted. It fixed everything, it’s good sometimes to give a fresh start
I seem to have got this fixed on iOS after about 3 hours of messing around over 2 days…
I had to delete the items I didn’t want to display by disabling auto management, then swiping left and pressing delete on each item, then the key was to go to the library I wanted to display on the Home screen, find the “Recently Added” list, press the three dots beside the title, and select “Add to Home Screen”.
Then, after doing this for my “Recently Added” TV and Movies, go back to manually manage the home screen, and move those items to the position you want them in.
Initially I had it coming up with multiple copies of the same thing (without me adding multiples), but I just deleted the unwanted copies, and put the wanted copies in the correct location, and exited the edit home screen section, and Presto, the Home Screen looked exactly like I wanted it to again.
I have tried this on iPhone XS Max running iOS 14.2 and will test it on iPad Pro 11 Gen 2 running iPadOS 14.2 tonight.
