I have a group of Home Users in my PMS. My wife and my daughter.
My daughter downloaded the iOS plex app and signed in with her email - the same email she is registered with Plex.
Some places in the app, it suggests to get a Plex Pass and the ability to use the enhanced player is disabled. When she logs out and I log in with my credentials, the Plex Pass suggestion is gone and I am able to use the enhanced media player.
I thought being a member of my Home Users would give her the benefit of my Plex Pass. Maybe I’m doing something wrong.
If the admin of the Plex Home has an active Plex Pass subscription all members of a Plex Home, both Managed Users and regular accounts, will be able to use our paid apps from the various app stores at no cost.
What specifically are the features not inherited?
Would it be better to set my daughter as a managed user? She doesn’t live at home right now and uses my PMS for streaming.
I can only think of ‘loudness levelling’ and ‘sweet fades’ (both for music playback).
Making her a real “managed user” would mean that she requires your Plex user name and password whenever she wants to add a new Plex client device to her account.
And she’ll appear on the ‘fast user switcher’ screen of your Plex clients.
And she’ll only ever be able to play media from your server alone in Plex.
