Home user settings not changing

I have several home users created for inside my house. One for my kid, one for my wife. One for a guest room etc. they have been working fine for over a year. They each have different access levels to libraries etc.

Yesterday I tried to change some of those settings. I wanted to give my wife’s account the ability to delete DVR program and schedule news ones and that sort of thing. I also logged in as another managed user to change the profile photo and stuff.

Well none of the library access changes are reflected. On the user where I changed the photo I still can’t see the change in PMP. I can see it on other clients but that same account also had access changes that aren’t reflected like DVR access. I’ve tried it in the web player and even on a Roku Ultra. Same behavior.

Is there some sort of user cache that has to be refreshed to see user changes?

Have you ‘switched user’ on the affected clients, after making the changes?

Yes, multiple times. I’ve tried different clients and the web app. The only changes I can see are to the profile photo. The only distinction with that is that the user itself changes the profile photo where is the permissions are changed by the admin.

And how about logging completely out of the Plex account and back in?

So…I had already tried logging out and back in…multiple times. I even restarted my server.

For kicks I decided to create a new “test” home user. That worked fine, but what I didn’t expect is that as soon as I did that the updates to the other users also appears. It’s like creating that user “updated” some home user cache or something.

Still testing, but so far so good. I’m going to delete the test users and see if the updates still work.

I deleted the test user and the other users still appear to be fine so far…
