Homepods mini can’t access directly my Plex music library via Siri, I can do it on my iPhone though.
When I Airplay from my iPhone to my HomePod mini, there is a 2 second delay between each command. It’s instantaneous with Prism.
If I Airplay from my iPhone to my HomePod Mini and my Apple TV 4k, they are not in sync. They are when using Prism as a source. They also are when I’m Airplaying to two Homepods mini.
If I start the playback from my Apple TV 4k, and I Airplay the music to my HomePod, the sound cuts out on my Tv and only plays on the Homepods.
From what I’m understanding, the issue is the lack of proper Airplay 2 support.
Any word on this progress? Would make Plexamp the ultimate whole home audio system.
Issues with Homepod Mini here as well, but that is just attempting to stream to it alone. The player will appear to play, the time counting down, but no sound will actually come from the speaker.
Tested with both MP3 and FLAC, same issue.
I ended up using Prism instead and that worked seamlessly. A pity though to have to pay more money(for downloading, playlists and sorting) for a 3rd party app to be able to stream with Apple’s devices.
Prism also opens up the airplay menu directly when pressing the Airplay icon, which is nice.
Please Plex, add Airplay2 support to your apps, it would hopefully solve a lot of headaches your paying customers are having with streaming to Apple-stuff with your native apps.
This.
The Plex devs have clearly never heard of AirPods or Spatial Audio.
Be it video or music…for the love of god get with the times.
Just for once on Apple devices actually innovate instead of 2 or 3 years catch up with pretty much any competing Apple based media playing solution.
I’m still reeling from Plex can’t do direct play FLAC for our music…but for video Plex can mux the audio to FLAC 7.1
Someone who is clearly brighter than me please explain how that works.
