All works okay for me…IOS sync, DVR, playing content…it just works.
While i agree with many gripes, I have had no issues with the plex.tv servers being…down. Wonder if it’s a regional thing or perhaps some less-than-honest ISP shenanigans (not saying it’s not an issue, just curious what triggers it, as it doesn’t seem to be a globally reproducable one)
Yeah, I’ve had no issues authenticating. I had multiple computers recently say my login credentials had expired, and had no trouble at all logging back in. I only wish the “Log in with Facebook / Google” wasn’t front and center.

Amen!! I do not use Facebook at all and I NEVER use any third party logon as I consider passing through multiple companies to be insecure and I try to use companies like Google as little as possible.

It’s there for convenience and not for data. If anything you would never want someone to use a different login mechanism as you give up data that way. So your comment makes no sense.
As for the authentication issue when Plex.tv is down your credentials should be stored locally and you should be able to login to your server using the last known credentials. If using HOME you may not be able to switch users but you can login with the last used login for sure.

I would really, really, really appreciate if Plex would first fix their bugs and only then introduce convenience features. Convenience doesn’t make any sense at all when so many core functions are broken.
I think a lot of users feel that way so you’re not alone in that thought.
Think about the non-tech folks trying to use PMS.
Most of us are pretty Techie and have problems with PMS.
Wonder what the impact of all this is to the rest of Plex users (Or potential Plex Users), unless this forum represents the entire Plex user population.
It is a fact in customer service that for every one problem or complaint can be multiplied by 10 to 20 times to indicate the magnitude of an issue. You never hear from folks who have no problems.
Do the math.
Plex certainly has issues and I’m sure many of us wish that they would be more responsive to bugs and issues. but I keep using plex because it is better than anything else I have tested/used. I also appreciate the people who are willing to answer question on the forums like @cayars @MovieFan.Plex and @ChuckPA
thanks for all your hard work, i know most of what you folks deal with is unhappy users.
