How can I add files to my PLEX library?

Hi,

I would like to know how to manually add media in my current folders already created?

Example: I have a library (so a folder) with movies and / or series, if I want to add more media in what I have to do? I do not want to create a new folder, I want to insert media in my current folder.

  1. Copy the new files to your media folders. Peruse the naming recommendations https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/your-media/
  2. Tell Plex to scan the library https://support.plex.tv/articles/200392106-library-actions/

Generally all you need to do is move the file into the desired directory and Plex will detect it a bit later and download the needed metatdata.

It is really that easy.

thank you, I just had to add the files in the basic folder and updated, just now I tried it did not work properly,

On the other hand, would you have a method to not let your PC run constantly? a tool, a PC?

Nope. Servers should always be available so I never let mine sleep and only shut it down for maintenance every month or two.

With a NAS Server (it’s not be good ? )
