How can i Choose a specific genre in Plexamp?

Hey Guys :),
plexamp is just great, but i’m missing the function to listen to a specific genre, i can’t add radios by myself, is there way to get a genre radio?

Greets michael

Hey @qnap92. You can head to the Search tab and type in a genre name. For example, if you type in “Rock” scroll past ARTISTS, ALBUMS, TRACKS and you’ll see “Pop/Rock” in GENRES. I hope that helps.

i tryed it, but if i search for example Metal it doesn’t show my Metal Genre where i have some artists titled as genre “Metal”

It appears the genres are very broad coming from All Music. This is a list of them unless you’ve tagged them yourself and you a preferring your local tags.

Try Style Radios… there is a Heavy Metal Radio there. Hope that helps.

i have style radio but i have to correct most of the styles by myself because partially they dont fit at all

that’s strange… unless the metadata in your local files is wrong, they should be coming from allmusic like alex said.

Try this… it doesn’t work all the time i noticed… go to a specific artist, then scroll down… down… down passed tracks, passed similar artists… then at the bottom, there should be Artist Sytles… this should tell you what styles a specific artist is… again… not all artists show this for some reason. Also, under that section you’ll see small dots… you can click on the second dot to see moods.

Not if you set Genres to ‘Embedded Tags’ in the properties of your music library.
But then you’d get Genre Radio instead of Style Radio anyway…

if i add genre and styles to an artist do i have to add genre and styles to each album addionally? Or ist it enough if i add it to artists?
