The problem is simple: 2 cd from the same artist single: cd 1 and cd 2, what is the best way to tag?
This is quite confusing. Are there really ‘singles’ with 2 CDs?
Or do you have 2 different versions of the same titled single?
Plex treats single releases the same way it treats albums. So the best way would be to create a folder for each single, name the tracks properly, and tag the files with the Artist, Album Artist, Album Title, etc that match the single release.
Something like this:
Artist Name
>>>Single Release #1
>>> - >>> 01 Song Title.mp3
>>>Single Release #2
>>> - >>> 01 Song Title.mp3
It’s a little work, but It works every time.for me.
EDIT: Include the year that the single was released in the tags, too. Then they will show up in the right order under the artist page.

Situation like this can only be handled if ‘prefer local metadata’ is activated in the properties of the library.
However, this also requires great discipline with tagging and quite some work.
But once you get the hang of it, it is quite easy:
You treat the two versions of the single as 2 separate releases.
Separate folders, and different content in the ‘Album Title’ metatags.
You could add something to the title to distinguish the two releases. Some ppl use the release code, some add things like Single Title [CDM Portugal] or Single Title [EP Club Remixes] or similar.
I see what you mean, but if plex detect well the 2 version why dont per example show cd 1 or cd 2 in the library automatic.

Another question related to this one, i managed to join the two cds(change the disk number in tag to 1 and 2) in one “album”, to make the 2 version together but the first song of disk 1 or 2 dont appear(the file is there), it is becouse of same name?:

Very likely. As I’ve said above: for “completists” it is almost unavoidable to go the ‘local metadata’ route. Then these two singles would become two separate releases. Release group “Bell Bottomed Tear” by The Beautiful South - MusicBrainz
