This show recorded during the night last night. The icon shows it is still recording and it says recording, but 100% complete. That was over 12 hours ago and it hasn’t finalized yet. Any suggestions?
Just to show, it’s not on the servers drive with last weeks show.
Looks like you’re operating in windows. If you change the windows settings to show “hidden” files and folders, then browse to the folder where your dvr is set to save this recording and look for a “.grab” folder which will now be visible. There will be oddly named folder(s) included in there [depending on how many recordings are active]. Drill into those folders to find the ts file.
EDITED: to change “not” to “now”
OK, I found that missing file in the GRAB folder. But now the recording from Sun night did the same thing, and it is not in the GRAB folder. The “show hidden folders” box is checked.
This sounds like the dreaded “100% Recording” bug that has plagued Plex Media Server since they introduced the Live TV function and changed the method they used in recording. You can’t always recover the ‘stuck’ recordings. And usually after you have this problem and recover recordings, you should restart the Plex server. It seems to clear out any problems and resets it. It’s a problem that they know about and have been working on for some time.
A couple thoughts that are not the 100% bug: If you have multiple library’s of type Movie or of type Television, or if you have multiple folders feed to one library, make sure your looking for the .grab folder in the path selected for saving the recording. Since its still on 100%, click on the entry shown in the recording schedule (it has the red dot with complete orange circle) this will open a window with a button to “Modify Recording”. Click that and see what location is shown on the subsequent window. That’s where the .grab will be found. If its still not found, uhhh…
You didn’t mention what kind of server your using, but (and this doesn’t explain a missing .grab) if your server is a windows machine and not the machine where your viewing this recording schedule from, then go to the display on the server machine and see if the OS has thrown an error message for you to act on. I suppose something similar could happen on none windows servers.
