How can I tag movies? Is this possible?

Good afternoon,

I am new to Plex and want to tag my movies. It seems I can add Movie locations to sort, or create playlists, but I would really like to just create tags for movies. For example, I’d like to have a tag set for Sports Movies, Comedies, and Dramas. “For Love of the Game” would be both a sports movie & a drama, while “Slapshot” would be both a sports movie & a comedy. Then the Twilight series would be both “Wife’s” and “Absolute Trash TV”. I would like to create and manage tags - not have anything automatically done.

Is this possible and am I just not finding it?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, using the web app. If you go into your movies library and hover your mouse over a movie you will see a pencil in the bottom left corner. Click on it and you will see a box with a Tags tab, click on that and see at the bottom a “Collections” field.
After assigning a tag, remember to hit save.
Then you can filter your movies by collections.

Oh, forgot, if you hover over the movie and click on the circle in the top left corner you can choose multiple movies - then click the pencil in the top right of the screen and you can tag multiple movies at once.

Awesome! Thanks! I’ll give that a shot.

or for your very specific use case… just overwrite the genre tags and assign your own values as you please.
