Managed user without internet access

I have set up my router to block the internet to my kids devices using a firewall rule at night.

But this also stops the kids from being able to log into plex.
How can I enable plex on the kids devices when their internet is blocked?

I’m guessing I can unblock the plex onlinserver via a rule but I don’t know what website or IP address adress to unblock to allow this.

The server has internet it is just on a seperate vlan but the vlan for the kids devices allows local but not net traffic.

The domain plex.tv as well as all subdomains of plex.tv

What would I need to remain blocked to disable plex streaming features but still allow managed users to log in?

As unblocking the whole domain and sub domain will still allow them to use the web features of plex.

Is there a chance plex could be updated to store managed user details settings and details locally on the server?

I am a little confused now.
What exactly do you want to allow and what not?

Disable all streaming from plex only use local media stored on my server.

Have you considered simply disabling the online media sources for your managed users?

Unsure if this will work, but might be worth a shot.

Load the ipvfoo extension into Chrome.

Login to app.plex.tv.

ipvfoo will show you the hosts contacted by Plex Web, some of which seem to be tied to the streaming services - vod.provider.plex.tv, webshows.provider.plex.tv, etc.

You can try blocking the applicable hosts for your kids’ devices during the desired time period.

I’d like to block the online media sources only during night time but let it work during the day so this would not be suitable as every night I would vave to manually shut it off for each kid or the local media would also cease to play.

Bacically I’d like to have a seperate time period for online media and my media of which plex is not capable of.

Yip this may be my only option ill give it a try.
