How do I edit the album type in Plex music libraries?

In the past, every album I uploaded to a Plex music library was listed as an “album.” But lately, Plex has started auto-categorizing albums into subcategories like “soundtracks” or “compilations” that get listed separately.

For example, here’s a screen-snip from the John Barry entry in my Plex music library:

Can I edit the album “type” somewhere to make these all “albums” again? When I go to Edit Details, I don’t see anything in the Tags or any other tab where this album-type can be edited.

Can I turn off this auto-categorization somewhere?

As of today you can only influence the album type by entering/editing the entry on MusicBrainz

Can I turn off this auto-categorization somewhere?

If you want to turn it off, then this should do it.

Scroll down and toggle the “ Group albums by type ” preference:

Just tried on one of my Libraries and they are no longer split into types…

With it enabled I get:

Thanks to you both! For now I just disabled the categorization in the Library settings and that did the trick.

I really like the idea of this feature but having to mess around and submit changes in MusicBrainz to correct anything makes it nearly useless (who the hell even has time for that?). I’d put its current accuracy at about 75%. I’ll be disabling it until there’s solution to edit within the Plex UI.
