how do i fast forward smothly using firestick

Are you using Direct Stream or transcoding?

dont know-just started today-set up homerun tuner-set up recording-played recording & tried to fast forward thru commercial & it just jumps around then freezes-have to start process all over again getting same results. i’ve had firestick for a year & fast forward works fine.
I only paid for 1 month of plex pass to see if it works-guess i found out.

I’m also experimenting with the DVR. When the video/audio are direct streaming the fast forward and rewind are basically useless. I went into the little gear menu and changed to “convert automatically” and it works much better, although there’s a few second delay with each press as the transcoder has to rebuffer. It’s CPU intensive and makes the picture look crappy.
