How do I find the server?

Hey all,
I bought a new home theater PC this week, installed Plex Server on it and…nothing’s happening. The icon appears in the system tray but I can’t figure out how to connect to it to tell it where to find my media. The new Server has been installed on a Windows 10 Pro PC, and all my media is on a NAS box. I do not want to use the slow and underpowered NAS to run Plex server; I would prefer to run in on the more powerful local PC.

If I click on “Your Media” in the main Plex interface it just tells me to download Plex Server, which is already installed and supposedly running. I’ve also posted this same issue to the server forum and I’m not sure which is the better place for it.

I have no idea what I screwed up or how I screwed it up, but I urgently need help. There is nothing in this forum or in the server forum that indicates how to find a lost server, or how to access the server to tell it where to find the media. The media is safe and I can play it through VLC/etc.

Please and Thanks.

Make sure to access the Plex Media Server through the bundled version of Plex Web that’s installed with your local server in order to complete the setup.

If you’re on the same device, you can open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web — if the server is running on a different device inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead. This should bring up a dialog/wizard where you can complete the setup by e.g. naming your server and linking it to your Plex account.

Once this is done you can also access your server from other devices or using the hosted version of Plex Web (https://app.plex.tv/desktop)

If you had installed a version of Plex Media Server on That device before, using a different Plex account, the server might still be linked to that account (blocking your new account from accessing it). If that’s the case you can follow this procedure to „free“ your server

Unfortunately no success. Indeed, I think I did use a different account and I followed all the steps listed in the second link, going into the registry, etc. One of the listed menuitems was not present in that registry key (PlexOnlineHome), but the other three were, I deleted them, logged out of the Plex web interface, logged back in and nothing changed. It was still broken.

Is there any way to do a COMPLETE and absolute uninstall, getting rid of every little bit of Plex Server, and start over again from scratch?
