how do i get plex to show films in collections

Hi guys

can anyone help me I understand how to add films in to collection on PLEX, but how do I get them to show the collection in my Library as a collection, rather than have to click on collections then click in the collection a want.

a good example of this is the Fast and Furious Films which show in my library all over the place (when i look at my library under title) i want to group the films so they are all in one place, like how they can group films together in XBMC, such as the batman films that group in XBMC as the Dark Knight Collection

can anyone tell me if that is possible, and if so how do i do it?

Simply put, this is not currently possible. It’s a feature that’s been requested, but there is no timeline on when or if it will be implemented.

The “Collections” functionality is horrible and needs a rewrite to something like what Emby does.

ok so there is no way i can have all the James bond films in one place under The Name 007 for instance, click on that and then all the films are there… directly from my library rather than having to go in to collections?

Try updating the Sort Title so that they all show in the order and location you prefer in the Movies view and not all over the place. Also you can update the Collections section under Tags

Changing the Sort title doesn’t group them like you want, but it will display them all together when in the default Movies view.

the current release has the ability to see collection based movies when you enter a movie. One small step, but definitely not finished. So for example, if you go to to “fast and furious” movie it will list out all movies that are part of the collection it is part of.
