How do I get two movies with same title to show up in my library and both available to play?

I have two movies with the same title, but can only get one that shows up and available to play via Plex app on Fire TV Box. Exaple: Over Her Dead Body 1990 & Over Her Dead Body 2008. Only the 2008 will show up in library available to play. The 1990 one also goes by Enid is Sleeping so I changed the name and updated everything and it still will not show up. Also have two Employee of the Month movies 2004 & 2006. Only one show’s up and is available to play. How do I get both versions of both movies to show up and available to play? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

Movie Name (YEAR)

TMDB says it’s Enid is Sleeping (1991) - so that’s what you’ll have to call it.

Since you’ve been working on this in the library (I assume) Plex Dance all of them to start over with new bundles:

The Plex Dance

  1. remove item(s) from library
  2. update library
  3. clean bundles
  4. empty trash

  5. correct the names
  6. replace item(s) into library
  7. update library

If these files are MP4 files let’s hope they don’t have errant info in the Title Field embedded in the metadata… if so remove the title field or:

Thank you, I realize that name change should help, but Enid is Sleeping 1990 does not show up in library and is unavailable to play. Employee of the Month 2004 is also unavailable to play. Why will these not show up on plex app and available to play via Fire TV when they are already in my PC library and I can play them there.

Ok… let me be clearer…

Files must be named correctly if you expect Plex to find them.

  1. enid is sleeping 1990 is 1) an invalid name and 2) the wrong name

Movie Name (YEAR) is the proper naming format. If you can’t be bothered stick the movies in a Home Video library where Plex will stop caring if they’re named properly - and also stop trying to match poor names to the databases.
