How do I remove the 'Upgrade Libraries Notification' from Plex Media Server?

My problem was it was audio files that were not albums that I needed to switch over. I ended up creating a library that was set to prefer local media and art and it ended up just bringing in the lecture names and tracks since they were formatted like albums. All I had to do was plug in all the artwork and that was that. Took several days but it is all over now.

Add me to the list of Plex users that just want the Library Upgrade notification to go away. I have no use whatsoever for an upgrade to any of my libraries. They are exactly the way I want them and the result of literally dozens of hours of work/curation. Please add a way to dismiss this notification for those that have no interest in it. I suspect it may have to do more with Plex’s push to add advertising revenue than to help users.

i don’t think many people here understand. the guy is asking how to remove a notification that is unreasonably annoying and we should have the right if you will to choose our database without an annoying notification in the upper right corner.

I managed to accomplish that using an ad blocker as Plex didn’t provide me an alternative. In the end I just gave in upgraded a bit later on - it worked okay actually, no real problems.

I think the experience of the “upgraded” library is far better today than it was on rollout… either that, or I’ve just gotten used to it.

its gotten worse overtime for me actually. just rolled back

I realized after scrolling up that I had attempted a downgrade back there… I guess that didn’t last long, or maybe I just rocked the new one when I swapped servers back in December. Either way, I’ve been rolling on the new agents for 6 months now, and haven’t really noticed anything bad.
This is of course based on my experience. Your mileage may vary.

Foremost, it poorly matches movies. Second, it doesn’t find a lot of the older classic movies. I prefer the connection to imdb, I turned it off just so I could get information for a lot of movies that it just does not know or find.
I would love to know how to stop plex from annoying me about updating it’s not worth it

BS. I challenge you to name any movie on IMDB that plex wont match, if you follow the correct naming schema. Ive got 100+ year old movies that plex matches just fine.

Plex searches for the IMDB’s “tt” number are pretty flawless in my experience:

Yep, my naming schema is <title> (<year>) <tt_imdb_id>.<ext> and never have a matching issue.
