please give us an option to disable/enable library upgrade suggestions. its in the same area as the server update notifications. to be honest i don’t use the plex libraries because they always mis-match my media.
I take it you know that Plex will at some point stop supporting and potentially drop those legacy agents?
Based on personal experience and on what I’ve seen here in the forum you’ll need to go extremely off the official naming schema for the current-generation Plex agents to mismatch your files… so maybe reviewing your file names might be the more sustainable approach (there’s even apps that’ll do that for you).
I agree with @bladeturbo . The new agent breaks the vital automatic subtitle file download. Plex support for non-US users is mediocre, the new agent makes it worse.
When a library suit his owner, when he passed time to rename and organize hundreds or thousands of classical recordings references, perhaps I will not like to HAVE TO use a new “agent” to put a shambles in his library (because all your agents understand NOTHING in classical music references) … So, what about the possibility to not using this “advantage” that sucks everybody on the Plex forums ?
We are going to be removing the legacy agents. There is nothing that is going to stop that. We will continue to inform folks it will happen and be prepared for it.
We plan on having tools/API available for third party folks to make custom agents and other tools before they are totally gone.
