How do I Split a TV Show that has Multiple Mini Episodes in one Episode?

Server Version#: 4.57.4

Hi I was curious how I go about naming TV shows where in the shows format has 2 or 3 episodes
per one show so they show up correct in the Plex TV show library.

IE TV Show A Episode 1 would actually have Episodes 1 and 2 in it, Example a lot of Animated shows will do this and the episodes would be 10 11 minutes long but 2 of them fit into one episode.

I am Trying to not have to use a decoder to split up each episode in order to get each mini episode listed right.

I would look at naming the Episodes correctly.

/TV Shows/ShowName/Season 02/ShowName – s02e17-e18 – Optional_Info.ext

I do its just when there are two episodes combined into one file its tuff to separate the two episodes in the one file out

You could follow Otto’s Tutorial of splitting a mkv file

Sometimes you just can’t win … the sources for matching sometimes just don’t match in these situations… particularly for some cartoons.

You might check TheTVDB and see if they have an order that matches (sometimes DVD order will have the combined order). Otherwise… kinda stuck if the naming trick doesn’t work and will likely need to split them manually… or live with it. I chose to live with it for Animaniacs.

Name it right and you don’t have to split anything:

Then Plex shows:

If you have more than 2 in 1 file - you can span a few by extending the last episode:

Show Name - S01E01-E04 - optional.xxx

There is a limit to the span - probably explained on the previously linked support article.

with this format can you also have to episodes names as well?

That is something - Optional
