How do I update PlexConnect whenever a new version is released?

I can't find a guide on this anywhere. Whenever see updates to the changelog thread here, how do I get those updates? What is the update process?

Updating is really the same as installing in the first place but you do have 2 options.

1 Go to the Github web site for PlexCOnnect and DOwnload zip and replace contents of your PlexCOnnect folder (Maintaining settings.cfg, ATVSettings.CFG and your certificate files.  (STop and Restart PlexConnect)

2 Install Github on your machine and do a sync. (Stop and restart PlexConnect)

Thank you. I hope at some point someone will create a GUI for this to make it much easier to deal with.

Option 2 does have a UI. It’s the standard app from GitHub.


Alternatively on Mac you could look may using plexify as it does handle updates (or that’s what I read anyway)

I’m going to create a how to soon for updating plexconnect as a one click solution on osx shortly that can be used without plexify if desired, it will be a do it yourself tutorial :wink:
