How do Plex decide what Trailer to play when selecting "Play Trailer" for a ripped movie?

I ask because some of the trailers that play are foreign language trailers. For instance, I played the trailer for the movie Jason Bourne and it ended up with a trailer that had Japanese subtitles.

As an FYI, I have no local trailers, all trailers are what Plex chooses.

Thanks

I’m getting the Taiwanese version. If you play the trailer in Plex Web, you can see the full name.

Whoever supplies the trailers to Plex is feeding the Taiwanese version. I’m in the USA & my system is set for English names/subtitles/etc.

Are you referring to extras for movies or the trailers that play during the pre-roll?

If it’s the former then this might be a bug in the Plex Legacy agent as I cannot reproduce this with the new Plex agent.

Movie extras. Below is a picture from Plex Web. Like the OP, I’ve no local trailers/extras/etc.

If I click on the Play Trailer button (looks like roll of film), it plays the same trailer.

I assume you’re on the legacy agent?

Do you have the “Include extras with subtitles in Library Language” ticked?

I’m using the new agent. The library originally used the now legacy agent. I converted it once the new agent was available.

I don’t play any trailers or other pre-roll videos.

FYI, I refreshed the metadata for the movie and it is showing correct trailers, like you would expect in the US

Maybe a quirk in the system during a prior metadata refresh?

Anyway, now working as expected for me.

That’s possible. We’ll be implementing scheduled refreshes for movies in a future update which should keep things up-to-date and should help minimize things like this.

Sounds good. Appreciate the follow-up on such a relatively minor item.

Cheers.
