Not sure what to post about my issue

I originally made a PLEX account with the email [emailremoved] a few years back. I signed up for the life time option. Last week my email changed to an email ending in @956886.xyz along with my password.

I tried signing in on a tablet with my normal email and it ended up making a new account. How could a new account even be made when I signed up with that email years ago?

I have no idea what is going on. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you accidentally clicked selected the option to create a new account instead of signing in… the dialogs look quite similar. If your tablet is setup with your new e-mail address it might have auto-populated that new e-mail address.

To avoid confusion you could delete the new account before signing back into the new one

Edit: just make sure not to accidentally delete the account with your Lifetime Plex Pass

My email in PLEX is something Ive never used. I tried changing the email but my password doesn’t work. How did I create a new account with my old login?

My entire account has been switched over to this email which I have no idea what the password is. I went to reset password with this xyz email but where do I go to change it? All Ive ever used is my bluecrosser email.

perhaps it sounds like your original account was hacked?

in the plex email notification that you should have received there should be a link or something that you should use if you did not initiate the email change

Looks like there was an email. I clicked revert but the new account I made stopped it from reverting. So I made a new password but my old email and the new xyz wont log me in. Im completely locked out.

i fixed it for you. sent you a message about it.

Awesome, everything back to normal., thanks guys.

The email I got from PLEX that was trying to change my email was all in Chinese. Definitely some tampering goin on. Gonna change my password to something better.

good advice for everyone, there are tons of hackers out there that look for accounts with easily guessable or poorly made passwords, to do any number of bad things, like delete or steal your content, attempt to sell the account, etc.
