How do you install the Plex updates on western digital my cloud ultra?

Although I do not have a WD MyCloud Ultra, I believe that the admin (web) user interface is the same as my “MyCloud PR4100”. Here are the steps I have to take to install a Plex Media Server update:

  1. open your device webpage and go to the ‘Apps’ tab on the top of the page
  2. click on “Install an app manually” on the vertical left hand side of the page
  3. Choose the file to upload- select the Plex Media Server build that you have previously downloaded from PLEX (https://www.plex.tv/downloads/) and place in a directory that is accessible by your device. (I place all of my builds directly on my MyCouldPR4100 NAS for example)

  1. select ‘Ok’ to “re-install the app”
