I can’t record current the programme from the guide. Now that the select button plays the current programme direct and there is no record button once viewing the programme(there is on roku & IOS) i’m unable to record livetv from the guide.
I’ve now tried all my TV’s in my house, LG’s and Samsungs all under 2 years old and none are passing the record button on their remotes through to plex. Play, Pause FF all work fine.
The work being done on the AndroidTV app is great and really improving the liveTV and DVR use in plex. Some things i’d like to see:
The guide to have its own button so pressing guide on the TV remote or the new programmable button on the new shield remote would bring up TVGuide.
PIP integrated into the guide in the top right rather than floating bottom right.
User definable length for FF & Rewind. 30 and 10 are too short for me.
Split Guide and recordings list into separate items on the left-hand UNO list. It is painful going between the guide and recording list at the moment, you have to scroll to the top of the guide or list to change.
Thanks for raising this issue, will look into this as it should be working when pressing record buttoon on your remote.

I will look into the issue you reported with the remote button recording not working, just too check, are you doing this during playback or on the TV guide? you can actually press the record button on the TV guide to schedule as well. We haave support for recording during playback coming soon.

I was pressing the record button when on the guide, as i said i have new LG and Samsung TV’s so very popular models that a lot of people will be using.

You guys have been doing some amazing work lately to Android TV. I truly appreciate it! Made me go buy eight more Mi boxes lol. I know this is more server-side but favorite channels is still a dream feature:) sorry not sorry, had to throw it out there. Keep up the good work!
@JasonsPlex Thanks for the comments and great to hear! and we do have some ideas around better customisation coming to Live TV over the next year. Its getting a lot of love to help make it the go to. Lots of work to do but we are working hard on it
@jamesdisco Any chance you could DM some logs when pressing the record buttons?It should log out the button events it picks up so I may be able to see whats going on from there
