I have paired the Harmony keyboard to the OpenPHT install I’m running, and yet it wont take any commands from the remote.
I have to plug in a real USB keyboard any time I want to navigate the interface.
I have searched, here, PLEX, Logitech, and all over - no solution fits.
Anyone here have experience cutting through this?
What I’ve found works the best for Harmony accessing over bluetooth is to add the device into Harmony as Microsoft / KODI.
I did some additional mappings by creating the file .plexht/userdata/keymaps/keyboard.xml
<keymap>
<FullscreenVideo>
<keyboard>
<return>OSD</return>
<enter>OSD</enter>
<backspace>Stop</backspace>
<c>NextSubtitle</c>
<d>AudioNextLanguage</d>
<a>AspectRatio</a>
</keyboard>
</FullscreenVideo>
</keymap>
These respectively do:
- Bring up the on screen display during playback when you hit the ok/enter button on the remote
- Same
- Stop playback when you hit return instead of going back to the menu and allowing playback to continue under the menu
- One of the color buttons (I’m blanking on which color it is right now) changes subtitles in use
- Same with audio
- Same with zoom (useful for the full-frame DVDs with letterbox within them)
Hopefully this helps.
So you’re saying I can do this on the embedded version?
Most of the suggestions i see are for windows or full Linux distros. (And can’t or didn’t work because of that)
If yes, then I’m eager to try this out when i return home from traveling for work Sunday night!
Yes, this is for embedded. I run OpenPHT embebbed at times and I described my own setup that works with a Harmony Home (hub with bluetooth).
Excellent!
I’m looking forward to testing this!
Did you enable Bluetooth in embedded system settings?
Sent from my iPhone
Oh yes, of course.
That’s how I know the unit can see the harmony keyboard.
I just cannot control it at all.
