Can someone please tell me what this message is all about? How could I have used a newer version of Plex Web?

The version of Plex Web at https://app.plex.tv/ is generally the newest available version.
The version on your Plex server at http://ip.ad.dr.es:32400/web is almost always a few versions behind, and best used for initial setup, but it can become very old if the server hasn’t been updated in a while.
Might that explain it?
Thanks for the speedy response. Yes that probably is the case. I think, for me, the confusion is around the fact that Plex “Web” can mean more than one thing - I always think of it as meaning web.plex. I’ve only used app.plex in order to access Discover but I shall be sure to not make any further changes using app.plex.
