I uninstalled all prior Plex installations, rebooted, installed Plex and Media Server. Even though I just downloaded the files it told me a newer version was available and I let it update. When I started Plex, Plex Web came up. I made some setting changes (it seems to have retained some prior info despite uninstalling). I got this message:
Any Plex Web settings and customization made in this Plex Web instance will not be synchronized with other Plex Web instances. This is because we have detected you have previously saved settings from a newer version of Plex Web.
How can that be? Do I care?
It is normal to see that message when using the local version of Plex Web. The message is only for Plex Web settings. Your Plex Media Server settings are not affected.
The hosted version of Plex Web, app.plex.tv, is always a few versions ahead of the local version installed with Plex Media Server, https://plex_server_ip_address:32400.
The current Plex Web hosted version is 4.47.1. The Plex Web version bundled with my PMS 1.21.0.3616 installation is 4.43.4.
