How to add family members access to my home Plex media server?

Can someone point me to a step by step documentation on how to add family members so they can access my home Plex media server? In my media server, I’ve setup an account but she’s not able to login saying she needs a plex.tv account. I signed up a plex.tv account for her and she’s able to login but unable to access my home media server.

That is a different concept than Plex Home. You can share your server content with other plex users. But you must explicitly invite them.

(and they must accept the invitation in order to be able to access your media)

But before you do anything like the above, start by confirming that your Plex server is accessible from outside your Home network.

Thank you for the response. I have gone through this article already.

The issue we’re having is, how does she log in? This method does not create password. It only creates PIN. On the iOS Plex app, it asks for user name and password to login.

She doesn’t. You do, using your own credentials. After that you use “Switch User” to go to her user profile.
This concept is for people who live in the same home, where the server admin is also providing assistance for all the client devices. e.g. elderly family members or small children

If this is however a user who lives away from you, the second approach with a separate, full plex.tv user account is more suitable.

Thank you so much! I think that’s where I’m confused about.
