Player Version#: 4.51.1
I have purchased a Plex Pass (monthly) and installed the Plex Media server. However I don’t find a way to add my media - only the Plex online Content is available. If I click on “My Media” I get a page with a link to download the plex Server. But I already installed it!
In order to complete the setup you need to open your Plex Media Server through its local IP.
If you’re on the same device… open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser. If you’re on a different machine inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead. This will bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (as well as creating your first libraries).
Once you “claimed” your server (=linked it to your Plex Media Account), you’ll also be able to access it from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop.
I followed the article, I also found it before myself. I’ve completely deleted the Preferences.xml, and now it got re-created but there are no PlexOnline* entries in the Preferences.xml.
Well I thought I did. Because I didn’t see any Server options and the server I’ve installed points me to the download page of said server software. It’s ridiculous, I have installed the server. On Ubuntu. The package reads plexmediaserver…deb
If Ubuntu, did you download from Plex.tv/downloads or the Ubuntu store?
What is the LAN IP address of the host?
Can you open a terminal session, cd over to /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs and make a tar.gz of everything there then add that GZ here?
