Since paying for a lifetime plex pass earlier today I am no longer able to add my own media.
Every time I click on ‘your media’ I get redirected to the ‘Get Plex Media Server’ page. I have already installed the plex media server about 20 times and it keeps asking me to install it. I am going around in circles and this software is extremely unhelpful and unexplanatory. I have seen this same issue raised in your forums without a resolution.
With a plexpass I am also supposed to be able to connect my TV tuner but of course there are no options within Plex to actually set it up. This is extrtemely frustrating to purchase non-functioning software and to then waste a day trying to make it work so could you please assist or issue a refund?

Did you finish the setup of your new Plex Media Server?
You’ll need to access the server “locally”, using the server’s local IP address from within the same network/subnet. If you’re on the same machine, open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser. Otherwise use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web
This should bring up a setup wizard where you can name your server, link it to your account and optionally create your first libraries. Once the server is linked to your account you can also more easily access it from other Plex apps (e.g. the hosted web app).

Did you already have a Plex Media Server installed on that machine, using a different Plex account?
Yes I had the free version installed for a while. I made the lifetime purchase this morning using a different email address to the one I had used when I installed the free version.
There’s no different app or accounts needed.
Now that you have a separate account and obviously want to use the account with the Plex Pass to run the server you have two options:
Switch Accounts
- Sign into Plex Web using your old / non-Plex-Pass account
- Open the server settings and go to
[Server Name]>General - Click
Sign-Outto unlink the server from your old account - Sign out from Plex Web
- Sign into Plex Web using your new Plex Pass account
- Go to
Settings>[Server Name]>General - Click
Sign Inon the settings page
Use the “Why am I locked out” procedure
