I wonder how to exclude a specific folder inside a library to a user.
I know about the custom tag thing, that I could exclude at the user level right management.
My problem is that I cannot add any tag or even select something when I’m browsing a library in Folder mode.
Basically, I’d like to exclude a specific genre of music from my Music library, for a home user.
I don’t want to create a specific library for this genre, I’d like to keep one big library for music.
Is that even possible?
Restrictions can only be defined at the “album” level.
A “folder” is not something that works in Plex.
If you really want to work at the folder level, you have to use separate libraries.
At first I didn’t want to use a separate folder, as I don’t want to have to switch the ‘Source’ / library in Plexamp each time i want to listen to something that is not in the source i’m currently in.
But I experienced that using the search function actually taps into all libraries, so I wonder if my user experience will actually be seamless even if I have my music database splitted in two libraries.
Depends on how often you actually listen to an audiobook or podcast, as opposed to music.
I use no audiobooks and only use podacsts very rarely, so I don’t mind using the search.
OK.
So is it that the search is able to look throughout all your audio source / libraries,
But if you browse via the artists / albums & others tags, it will only show you the tracks that are in the ‘source’ you are in at the moment?
