How to change the Plex Media Server Account

I recently paid for Plex Pass and, unknowingly, did so with an account different than the Plex Media Server I am running (one account linked to Facebook, the other Google). I’d like to change my Plex Media Server to run on the account that has a pass. I tried signing out from the media server, and then signing in under my account, but it just searches for server. If I sign back into the server under the old account, all is fine. I tried installing a new server from my new account, but it does the same. I suspect I need to update a configuration file somewhere? Or, if ‘merging the accounts’ is possible administratively, that would be fine with me as long as I can keep my pass.

Thanks for the help!

If you change the account of your server, you have to re-link all your Plex client devices to this new account as well.
If you don’t have that much client devices, that is probably not so bad.

This procedure will get your server out of its current account and into another account:

Contact the billing office https://www.plex.tv/contact/

Provide them the details of what happened and what you need corrected. Please remember to include sufficient documentation so they can track the transactions and credit the correct account.

Thanks! Deleting the PlexOnline* registry entries as described in https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/204281528-Why-am-I-locked-out-of-Server-Settings-and-how-do-I-get-in- worked with a little patience. Stopping the server, following registry cleanup instructions, restarting the server, signing in under the new account, and then reclaiming the server worked. Finally, reconnecting any existing clients under the new account worked.
