Plex Lifetime Pass Mixup // Synology DSM 7

I purchased a Plex Lifetime pass and did not realize I did so under the wrong email. I was able to get the emails swapped around. However, my PMS is tied synced with the incorrect account. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall on my NAS to get the server to allow me to use the account with the Plex Pass, but I am unable to get my media to sync with the right account. I am sure I did not explain that well. Hopefully someone is able to decipher and help.

I’m not exactly sure what you did. If you changed the e-mail address of your account, the account itself should still be the same and no changes needed (maybe rebooting the server to pick up the changes).
If you somehow swapped accounts, you’ll need to unlink your PMS before being able to relink it to the new account:

I had a plex account under email A from a long time ago.
Bought a NAS, set up PMS using email B.
Purchased lifetime plex pass but didn’t realize that I did so while logged into email A.

When I realized my error I changed the account emails so that the life time plex pass was associated with email B. However, PMS is still tied to the same account that it was previously installed under. I want it to be tied to the account witht the plex pass.

Log the server out of the current account and sign it into the account with the Plex pass. Your login is tied to an account token not your email so when you switch the email the login doesn’t automatically switch to the other account. You must sign out and then in to the other account… even if you’re now using the same credentials since the email swap.

If this is on Synology DSM 7 ,

  1. Uninstall the package with the KEEP (default) option
  2. Install the same package SPK again.
  3. Select Install using Plex Claim Token
  4. Click Get Plex Claim Token hyperlink on the installer page
  5. COPY the claim token (claim-xxxxxxx) from the claim tab which opened
  6. PASTE the token into the small box on the installer page.
  7. Click NEXT - NEXT - NEXT and allow installation to begin.

When it completes, It will give the usual popup
PLUS
It will confirm the server is claimed and show your Plex account name.

If that field is blank then the NAS cannot communicate with Plex.tv
