I purchased the lifetime plex pass but for the wrong account. My server is associated with another account that does not have plex pass. How can I keep my server but change the account associated with it?
Two options.
Option 1: Unclaim the server, then re-claim it with the desired account.
If you share with others, you will have to re-invite them and re-share libraries with them.
Your watched states, ratings, etc. will not automatically transfer to the new account. You can copy the information using WebTools-NG’s View State Copy feature.
Option 2: Contact Plex Billing, link at bottom of page, explain the situation, and ask them to transfer the Plex Pass.
I don’t know the exact process, but you will have to verify both accounts are yours.
If they are able to transfer the Plex Pass, you’ll need to restart Plex Media Server. During startup it will check with plex.tv, verify you have a Plex Pass, and enable the extra features.
I was able to reclaim. I did contact plex billing a couple days ago and they said they would not transfer the plex pass. All good though. Server took a little tweaking to be reclaimed but it’s up and going on the correct account now.
Now I need to figure out how to invite everyone back. I was getting an error when trying to invite using their usernames. Only emails worked.
