Does anyone know how to remove the Plex Cloud media server from an account?
Without getting into the details of why, I’d like to remove my Plex Cloud server option so that I no longer see it when I log into Plex. I only want to see my local media server.
Stop the Plex Cloud server, by going to https://plex.tv/users/cpms and selecting Stop Server
Delete the Plex Cloud server from your plex account, by going to https://plex.tv/web and selecting Settings / Devices / Server and then X the Cloud Server

Following those instructions works and the Plex Cloud server will no longer be shown on your clients. However when you log into Plex using the web interface the Cloud server will continue to be offered as a server to set up. I do not think there is any way for a user to fully disable all access to the Cloud server once the user has been granted access to the cloud beta test.
I think the only way the server will fully disappear is if the user is removed from the Plex cloud beta.
Thanks @sa2000 and @Elijah_Baley, I can live with it showing as an option. My issue was that all my clients were defaulting to the Plex Cloud and it was taking forever to connect. With no media there it was proving frustrating for me.

I thought I did once try disconnecting cloud providers and the server disappeared after disconnecting the last provider
You should think about the dangers of doing your own thinking!!
I disconnected everything as per the instructions and the server disappeared from everywhere except for the web interface where it is offered exactly as it was when I was first approved for the beta.
I just revisited this thread because I was still seeing the option in web interface. I successfully removed the Cloud Server displaying after clicking on Cloud Server, the set up screen then had an option “No thanks not interested” I think was the wording. Then the Cloud server didn’t show any longer
I would like to do the opposite and delete the server on my pc and only use the plex cloud. When I sign on and click “tams pc” I can see the program guide and recording schedule. When I click on tams pc and change it tp Plex Cloud, I lose the program and the recording schedule options. Is this because I set up the pc as a server first?
Thanks
Tam
I keep reading that you no longer need a pc to use plex cloud as a server. What am I missing. If I get the dvr service from hdhomerun will I be able to watch the recordings from the plex cloud server through Plex or do I have to have a pc folder for the recording to go to?

“HDHomerun” is not a service, it’s a device.
Simply speaking, a box with an antenna connector and a network plug.
You place it into your home network and it will receive those OTA tv transmissions for other devices to use on your home network.
The cloud server is not situated on your home network. It sits hundreds or thousands of miles away in a data center. Therefore it cannot access the HDhomerun device, even if wants to.

If you want to use the DVR and live tv features of Plex you need a local device in your household for Plex Server to run on.
Thanks so much for the reply. I am not having issues installing plex server on windows 7. I decided to make the computer just for plex and hd and did a complete format. Now the Plex server software will not install completely. I made sure and installed the sp1 update and still it installs saying stopping plex under and then when it gets to the next step it just hangs. I am almost ready to give up but I will not. Thanks for any help or advice you can throw my way.

“not” or “now” ?
On Windows 7 make sure to have not only the “Service Pack 1”
but also “Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7” installed.
You must also make sure this is not a Windows 7 N version (i.e. without Windows Media Player)
See under ‘Software’ if you already have the ‘Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (x86)’
installed.
If you do, deinstall it
then reboot the computer
then download a fresh installation program from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145
and install it
Do also let Windoes search and install all Windows Updates (this may require several reboots and repeated update searches).
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I know it works as it did before I reformated my pc hard drive. Let me try these things and I will let you know what happens. Thanks!
I just wanted to let you know that updating ie8 to ie11 and deleting and reinstalling the visual c file worked. I am up and running now. Thanks for all the help!
