How to find Duplicated Movies using PLEX?

Hi Guys,

 

Is there any easy way using plex-web or plex media server or script which shows or detect the duplicated movies in the plex library? i have the same movies with different resolution (not the same video file...)

 

I need to keep one of them only but i have a very big library so i cant do it  manually, is a way to create a filter to show only these duplicated movies?

 

I really need this ASAP, my NAS is full and i need to clear unwanted data :(!

Support was just added in the 2.0.8 app, but it depends on something in the next version of the media server, so you'll have to wait for the next media server update before the duplicates filter shows up.

I'm looking for the same thing.

So I need to ask - which app and which version of the server are you referring to.

Use the Web-GUI http://plex.tv/web and not the build in GUI to acces this feature.

Get into the library and you will find a filter for duplicates. Activating the filter will show only movies with duplicate files.

If you get then into the movie-details you can see the file details in the info-window.

If you use the delete option in the detail view PMS will show you the single movies with it's resolution and you can choose which one to delete.

Thanks, This helped however I have 102 Duplicates. Was hoping for an automated way to clean this up. Would like to see a way to keep the highest quality.

Is there a way to do this for TV episodes? The duplicate filter option doesn't seem to exist in the TV sections, only in Movies. I can browse recently added episode view to look for the "2" icon in the corner, but if there was an easy way to filter these, that would be useful too.

bump. I too would like to know if there is an easier way to remove all the filtered duplicate items? i have over 80, and it would make life a bit easier to batch delete them. :) thanks

There is no such functionality in plex.

I am trying to figure out a way to find duplicates in separate libraries. I may have a movie in Action and the same movie in Thrillers. I can do this manually, but I’m thinking it would take at least a week to filter through 3000+ movies. Is there an easier way? Thank you
