recently started adding friends and family to my plex server. up until now was simply using it in home only.
anyway, when clocking on “continue with facebook”, the button depresses but nothing happens. when clicking on “continue with google” i am prompted for credentials but then receive and error that says “Sorry, something went wrong there. Try again.”
is there any special local configuration I need to do to enable these?

From what you are describing, it appears that something in your web browser or your computer is preventing access to either facebook or google.
Unless you determine what that “something” is and how to teach it not to interfere, you might have to continue using your regular Plex username and password.
