How to make a kids movie file on plex

Hi peeps… need some help… I downloaded a lot of my kids movies and I want to put them in one file… I recently put them in a collection but they didn’t move from my movie section… can some one Tell me how I can put them in a file under my movie file… thank you

If for personal movies of your kids - home movies, etc - then put them in their own directory structure and use the “Other Videos” library.

But will that be in Plex… can I just add another file to my external harddrive and name it kids movies and will it show up in Plex as that…

What do you mean by “file”?

Do you perhaps mean a library?

Is this for personal, home movies of your kids or theatrical movies for kids (Disney, etc)?

You should keep your personal movies separate from commercial, theatrical movies.

See Plex’s Media Preparation Guidelines. It has sections for theatrical movies, TV shows, and personal movies.

If theatrical movies, you could do something like this:

/Media
  /Movies
    /Avatar
    /etc
  /Movies - Kids
    /The Little Mermaid
    /The Lion King
    /etc

You could then have two movie libraries in Plex - Movies and Kids Movies (or whatever you want to call them).

For personal movies, you could follow a similar pattern. Have libraries called Home Movies, Kids Movies, etc.

/Media
  /Home Movies
    /Family Vacation.mp4
    /Christmas.mkv
  /Kids
    /School Play.mkv
    /Football.mp4

Yes… that’s what I’d like to do… one for my movies and one for the kids… how do I go about that…
