How to manually update Plex docker on unRAID

Whew. Tell me about it. The struggle was real here lol. Now the only thing I gotta figure out is getting the unRAID Plus license key that I purchased but never got the email for so I can get off the trial version. But at least I am up and running again!

I believe the Limtech team is at CES 2016 so give them a few days more to respond…

Yea I was going to give it a little bit more time before trying to get a hold of them again

You are not alone. I’m having a similar issue with buffering, which I never had before. I also get the same message under the WebGui / settings to update manually. I’ll give it a couple more days to see what happens as well. I forgot about CES 2016.

Two different things caused the problem for me. First, when I set my server to a static IP is wiped the DNS settings within unRAID. I had to set my DNS1 to the same as my gateway (I stopped my array > went to settings > network settings > and set DNS1 to the same IP as my gateway > and started my array again.) and I was also running an old version of unRAID. Once I upgraded to the latest version and put the DNS settings back in everything worked fine for me and still is, I’ve had no buffering issues since then and my Plex is all up to date

I tried to manually update the Plex version via editing the docker app, but no luck for me. I’m still on the previous old version.

I’m currently running Plex through a Docker I downloaded from Community Applications Plugin. It’s the one that says it’s by PlexInc. When I have Plex up on my computer, it says that a new update is available and that I have to manually update to version 1.13.2.5154. I downloaded that file, but I’m not sure what to do with it. Tried restarting the docker to see if that would kick in an update, but it didn’t. I guess my question is the same as previous people have asked. Do I have to wait until the docker gets an update or do I need to do something with the file I downloaded?

Currently running whatever the latest version of UnRAID is and whatever the version of plex prior to the current one is.
