Currently I have Plex installed on my hard-disk (Volume 1). Since I moved to my new Synology DS920+ I am using two Hard-disk (Volume 1) and two SSD (Volume 2).
Question:
How can I move Plex software from the hard-disk (Volume 1) to my SSD (Volume 2) on my DS920+?
I hope that Plex will be faster on an SSD, any experience?
Certainly, the media should stay on Volume 1.
Special challenge since I migrated to DSM7 my Plex folder with the Plex software is empty and the Plex server data is somewhere hidden.
Because of how things are implemented in DSM 7, moving existing data to SSD is going to be a manual step right now.
I implemented a few safeguards so you don’t accidentally get PMS install volume and previous PMS data split which aren’t obvious when reviewing the code (splitting, drives Package Center crazy).
I have a somewhat similar question regarding DSM7.
I’ve created a new storage pool and volume (volume2) that I’m moving all my data over to (from volume1). I followed the procedure to successfully migrate my Plex server from DSM6 to DSM7.
What I’ve tried, is to uninstall the existing Plex installation, and selected the option to keep all the data. Then I attempted to install, selecting volume2 as the install destination, but the Plex installer detects an existing installation on volume1, and won’t let me continue (or move that data from volume1 to volume2).
Is there a procedure for DSM7 to move the Plex installation from one volume to another? I don’t mind if it’s a manual process requiring the command line.

(Sorry, that I did not react earlier). @trumpy81 Just installing Plex new, unfortunately is not a solution for me. I would loose too much customizing.
