should just be tapping album art. if you’re not seeing the viz there it’s possible your version of android has an issue with the OpenGL features required.

also if you are casting to another device the viz will not be available
Figured I’d share some knowledge Elan dumped on me in another thread… Turns out I’ve been using the cast wrong. Here’s what I wrote:
Play queue is lost after connecting and disconnecting to a google cast speaker
steps to reproduce :
- queue up some music and start listening
- connect to a google cast speaker
- disconnect
- now you’re entire queue is lost
Turns out you’re not really supposed to use disconnect if you want to keep your queue alive. You just select “This Device” in the list and it will continue on your phone. Disconnect “disconnects from the player but leaves the queue behind”, however in the case of ChromeCast, disconnecting kills the playback too.
Now I know, and maybe I wasn’t the only one doing it wrong and annoyed that I lost my play queue every time.
think of it like an output selector, with “this device” being one of the outputs
at least that was the intent. little known fact—if another device is connected to the chromecast as well, then disconnecting doesn’t actually kill the session (last one out, turn off the lights).
YES. Also if the “lights are still on” i.e. there is a current queue state on a playback device, when connecting to it I can choose whether or not to clobber that state by replacing its queue. (use the “arrow” icons in device selection)
it’s all very nicely done, hoping for synced playback someday via multiple selection
thanks
thank you for autoplay, i did notice that if there are no albums the behavior is to fall back to decade radio, can we make this an optional “default” behavior along with the previous/next albums options?
loving how plexamp exposes me to variation in my library so getting that wherever possible and not running random album radio is always appreciated
not sure i follow, but it’ll remember your selected card and try to use it the next time round.
For the “Always on Top” behavior, I found an easier way to do it with just regular minimize - I just still haven’t fully wrapped my head around the differences between Plexamp 3 and earlier versions.
For the Android visualizer issue, it seems like it’s common for the app to get confused and start displaying some buggy behavior if I return to it from the lock screen/the push notification with the playing status, and that’s when I notice the visualizer doesn’t work. It’s a bit weird - is there any way I could record and send a log to you guys?

Plexamp is a great product. I’ve been using it for a month, and I even recommend it to my friends. I have a suggestion on product experience. I hope I can consider it. Can the lyrics be displayed on the cover? Swipe or click to switch the cover or lyrics, which will be more convenient in operation. Thank you for bringing such a great product. I will always pay attention to it.
Just curious regarding radios and ratings as it’s not really clear to me: At what point considers Plex a rating as low enough to make it play less in radios? Is it 2.5 star? Will a rating of 2 make a track play less in a radio than a track with no rating at all?
I think it’s 2.5. I can’t remember ever seeing 2.5 star rated songs in a radio. 3 star songs regularly appear.
yeah, the cut-off is 2.5 stars (5/10).
Thanks.
I’m sure there is a lot of different ways to use stars. In some contexts I’d consider a 2 star rating higher than an unrated track, just because it means I bothered rating the track. I have way too many tracks to rate everything… Maybe it would be possible for the user to adjust where the cut-off for radios are in the future?
we prefer not to add tons of preferences, and saying something over 5/10 is “good” doesn’t seem that contentious. i do realize people have their own custom systems…
I think unrated tracks showing up in radios is a good idea at least from the point of view of giving you the opportunity to rate it.
I find that library radio repeats rated songs (3 stars and up) to much. I now only rate songs I don’t want to hear 1 star so they don’t play, this give me more of a random radio and I hear different songs more often.
and on that topic, there is no easy way to “unrate” a song, make 0 stars, unless I’m missing something. itunes has a “None” rating but Plex does not seem to have that.
you are. in plexamp and web (i believe) at least, dragging past the left end removes any rating.
you can change this via the hidden RadioDaysSinceLastPlayed preference. it defaults to 2, i have mine set to 7, e.g.
