How to remove the navigation bar in player

When I’m playing a movie on my phone I’ve noticed a navigation bar on the right hand side, when I tap it it takes me to my profile. How do I remove it?

Which platform is this (e.g. Android mobile, iOS…) and which version of the Plex app do you have installed?

I’m on android

Client Version

2025.29.0 (966828528)

I don’t see that. Clicking on the edge only brings up the Android home page bar.

@piper180 Which specific brand/model Android device do you have?

Motorola phone, I have 2 and it does it on both. maybe it’s just Motorola

I am on the z fold 2 and had the same issue, I have found at least a temporary work around until plex fixes this, first uninstall plex, then search plex on apkmirror, click on “all versions” and scroll till you find the 2025.23.0 version, click on it and download the first one which should be from August 11 2025, then download and install the apkmirror installer from the play store, after you’ve done this go onto the apk mirror installer app, allow it all the permissions it asks for, then find the file in your downloads and hit install, once it’s installed go back to the play store, find the plex app, click the 3 dots in the top right corner and uncheck the auto updates box, then simply sign into plex and play whatever you want and the shadow should be gone, hope this helps

I have the same issue. I have a Samsung S10 Lite. see screenshots below.

A couple questions for you all.

What is the screen resolution of your phones.
What version of Android is on them.

Same issue here.

Phone : One Plus 6T

Android version : Android 11 (yeah… Old phone I know)

Screen resolution : 2340*1080

Client version : 2025.30.0

Thanks! Hope this will be fixed soon!

Hi, I’m new here, and I have the same issue.

My problem is with the Android APK;

  • APK from the Play Store; Android; Version 2025.30.0
  • Phones: Samsung - S10 Plus and S24 Ultra have the same problem
  • Android Version: Version 12 (S10 Plus) , Version 14 (S24 Ultra)
  • Screen Resolution: 1440 x 3040 pixels (S10 Plus) & 1440 x 3120 pixels (S24 Ultra)
  • Previous version I tested that doesn’t have this problem: 2025.26.0
